Parent, Teacher & Friends Association - PTFA
We are very fortunate at our School to have a PTFA Committee that is, and has been, such an integral part of the school community for a number of years. In its time, the PTFA has raised thousands of pounds which have been spent on improving equipment and resources to enhance our children’s education and the facilities in school in general. But our PTFA is about more than just fundraising.
It exists to provide closer links between home and school, and it is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school, working towards a common goal. It is fun too - just ask any of the PTFA committee members or helpers. Obviously as in any organisation there are times when it is more ‘challenging’, but with the continued support of parents and staff, our PTFA has always succeeded in its efforts.
All parents and members of the school community can get involved if they want to, even if they only have a small amount of time available, and all parents are automatically members of the Committee when their children join our school.
The PTFA is extremely conscious of the ethos and diversity of our school and we try very hard when organising and planning events to respect this. We also aim to give the children a good time, as a way of thanking families for their continued support.
Throughout the year the PTFA hold three main events - the Christmas Fayre, the Easter Fayre and our biggest fundraising event, our International Evening. Over the last academic year the PTFA have raised over £4,500 for our school funds.
International Evening - July 2010
This is our biggest fundraising event of the year. The whole community of Our Lady of Grace join together to celebrate the many diverse cultures within our School and raise much needed funds for our children - over £2,000 at this event alone.
Easter Fayre 2010
This fun event was held in the School in March 2010 and we raised over £800.
Christmas Fayre - December 2009
We held a small Christmas Fayre after School and raised approximately £1,100 towards updating our Garden area
