COVID End of Term

Dear Parents 

Following conversations with Greenwich LA, Public Health England, and Governors we have agreed to close the school from Monday 14th December, except for the children of key workers, with Home Learning taking place for the final week of the term. 

School will be contacting the families of key workers to confirm take up of the provision.

Our decision, which was not taken lightly, was based on the health and safety of the children and remaining staff members who are unable to teach the children without crossing bubbles and risking infection.

From the initial outbreak last Friday, we have had daily information from parents reporting positive cases of children with COVID.  However, with the isolation of staff due to classes being sent home, it is now impossible to cover classes at play and lunch times.

I hope I have your support in making this very difficult decision for the welfare and safety of the children and the staff to which we serve.

Letter from Headteacher

Dear Parents, As we begin our third week of remote learning, can I say a big thank you for your kind words of appreciation for the teachers and support staff.  It is difficult for us all, but your emails of support and appreciation go a long way, thank you! The teachers have reflected on the lessons learnt from the first lock down.  We are looking to increase the interaction with pupils online to ensure the work continues to be varied and to ensure the very best learning is taking place. I have said this many times, but the situation we find ourselves in is far from ideal. You as parents are going to experience some wonderful moments as you work alongside your children.  These moments, I have no doubt, will be sprinkled with frustrations, but please take the time to work within a routine that best suits your home situation. If you need teachers to clarify tasks, please don’t hesitate to contact them during school hours. Whilst many of our children are working remotely, good communication is key.
