The Government of the United Kingdom has set its definition of British Values, values which underpin a modern, civilised society. These core values are: democracy, rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance to those with different faiths and beliefs.
We uptold British Values in the context of Catholic Teaching and instill in our children the core values of democracy, citizenship, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance towards those with different faiths and beliefs.
As a Catholic School, we enshrine these values in our everyday lives as we attempt to follow the message of the Gospel - to love God and to find him in each other.
Dear Prime Minister....
Some pupils in Year 6 wrote to Mrs Theresa May to congratulate her on becoming Britain's Second Woman Prime Minister.
We learnt a lot about Democracy and Procedures in our discussions in class regarding the Referendum.
Here is the letter we received from 10 Downing Street.
Dear Mr Khan...
Our Year 5 children wrote letters to Sadiq Khan expressing their hopes and concerns as citizens of London. These ranged from questions about Transport, Sport and Education - to congratulating him on being the first Muslim Mayor of London.
