Posted on: 11/06/2025Year 6 Buddihism Visit - Wednesday 11th June 2025Today, Year 6 received a talk from Ms Yasunaga, one of our parents who is a Buddhist, in her talk she explained that she was from Japan and that Buddhism is more of a way of life. Ms Yasunaga explained that the way of life was about being a good person, caring for others and accepting that there is suffering in the world. Within her presentation, Ms Yasunaga covered the four noble truths which were that suffering exists, cause of suffering, end of suffering and the path of liberation. It was a fantastic session full of information which ended with a question and answer opportunity.
Posted on: 11/06/2025London Fire Brigade Visit - June 2025We had a fantastic visit from Clarisse, who taught us all about fire safety at home. She showed us how to check our smoke alarms, create a fire escape plan, and understand the importance of staying calm in an emergency. We learned how to spot potential fire hazards and ways to make our homes safer. Clarisse even gave us some homework to share with parents—important tasks like testing smoke alarms and planning a safe way to exit your home in case of a fire We were surprised to find out that smoke alarms are a free service provided by the London Fire Brigade.

Posted on: 2/06/2025EYFS Road Safety WorkshopsWe had a road safety workshop today where we learnt all about the rules of the road. We were taught a clever chant to help us remember, “we stop, look, listen, think and hold hands.” We learnt that police, ambulance and fire trucks are allowed to ‘break the rules’ and not stop at a red light. In groups, we took turns to practice crossing the ‘road’ safely. We got to hold objects to help us remember that we have to, stop, look, listen and think.

Posted on: 21/05/2025Future of Our Lady of Grace Parish Church - updateAs many of you will be aware, the future of Our Lady of Grace parish church is uncertain, and by extension the existence of the parish. The Archdiocese of Southwark does not currently own the land or buildings of the parish and the current owners have attempted to serve notice on the parish, requesting it to vacate the buildings and cease use by the end of June. There are legal reasons why this is not acceptable and the Archdiocese has made clear to the owners that the parish vacating the site is not possible nor accepted. As a school we are very concerned by these developments. Our relationship with the parish is very strong and the links between home, parish and school are absolutely essential for the authentic Catholic education and formation that our children currently receive. The parish community has quickly mobilised to work with the Archdiocese to find a permanent solution that will be acceptable to the site's owners, and the school is working very closely with the parish to offer whatever assistance and support it can. There will be opportunities for the wider school community to support the parish community via petitioning decision makers and fundraising. These efforts will be organised by the parish and the school will communicate any calls to action to parents as soon as they are received. Please pray for a successful resolution to this very concerning situation and the protection of Our Lady of Grace over our whole community. Please see the letter that was read out by Canon Victor Darlington at Mass on 3rd May 2025 by clicking below. Canon Victor Darlington's Letter to Parishioners We have been informed that the church will not close on 30th June but that there is a reprieve for at least one year.
