School Council Presentation on Road Safety

Today the School Council delivered a fantastic assembly about an important issue affecting our school community. Over recent weeks, we have seen an increase in unsafe driving and parking outside the school during morning drop-off. Cars have been stopping on the zigzag lines, parking on the kerb, and blocking the road — making it difficult for pedestrians to cross safely and, in some cases, preventing emergency vehicles from passing through. These behaviours put children, families, and staff at real risk. The School Council explained to pupils that we need to encourage others to drive with extra care, follow parking rules, and allow a little extra time in the morning to keep everyone safe.

To help raise awareness, our School Council is also launching a Road Safety Poster Competition. We are inviting all children to design an A4 poster that encourages safe and considerate behaviour during drop-off and pick-up times. We hope this competition will help pupils feel empowered to share their voices and encourage positive change.

Your presence, enthusiasm, and generosity made the event an overwhelming success and truly put us all in the festive spirit! The atmosphere was vibrant, joyful, and a wonderful testament to the strong community spirit we share. We hope you all had a fantastic time enjoying the stalls, games, and delicious festive treats. We are absolutely thrilled and deeply grateful to announce that, thanks to your incredible support, we raised a phenomenal £4,284.67! This total is a truly amazing achievement, and we want to assure you that every single penny of this amount will go directly to supporting the school—funding essential resources, materials, and enriching activities that will benefit every child. We would especially like to thank our volunteers who gave up their time to set up, run stalls, and clean up. Your dedication and effort were invaluable Thank you to everyone who baked, cooked, and prepared the delicious food and treats for our food stalls. The quality and variety were outstanding, and your culinary skills were a huge hit! Finally, a huge thank you to everyone who donated items for the raffle, tombola, and other stalls. Your donations provided the prizes and variety that made the Fayre so special and successful. Thank you once again for your remarkable support.
