Railway Safety

Please see below message from Stuart Heaton from Learn Live

As part of ongoing efforts to promote railway safety, Network Rail has requested that schools support this important safety initiative by ensuring that young people receive these potentially life-saving messages before the end of term and prior to the holiday period.

Since the summer holidays are only a few weeks away, we ask that you share these resources with pupils as soon as possible.

You should also have received information from Network Rail by post, providing further context and guidance.

We strongly encourage you to share the railway safety videos below with your pupils as soon as possible to help reinforce these vital safety messages.

Please note that the age ranges below are recommendations only.

Greenwich Learning Partnership

Head Girl, Whilemina, and Stamatis were invited to attend the Greenwich Learning Partnership conference today to learn about the importance of using our voices. Set inside the Charlton Athletic Football Club, they heard from keynote speaker, Tia Shah, who discussed her role in enabling all migrants in the UK to feel welcomed and accepted,  The CYPP (Children's Youth Programme) then took us through engaging activities where children put forward their ideas for life skills they would like to learn before leaving school, as well as debating the social media ban for under 16s! We all came away feeling empowered to use our voices and be heard.

School Streets

Greenwich Council engaged local people for their views on how the school affects them so that they could design a School Streets scheme which works best for the school community and residents. Our school has been identified as one of the locations around which they are proposing to create a School Streets scheme.  They are proposing to enforce the Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) through automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras.  This will allow essential access, an important consideration for the emergency services, while preventing non-essential  vehicle movements. They are proposing that there be an exemptions process for school staff, residents who live on the streets, blue badge holders, SEND transport and carers, as well as the emergency services.  Please see flyer below:
