Leonard Silver - Judaism Workshops
Today in RE, we had the amazing opportunity to listen to Leonard Silver, a Jewish man from Scotland. He came in to talk to us about what it means to be Jewish in today’s world. We learnt so much about the Jewish faith, including the different religious festivals, important places and figures of worship, and some of the special clothes Jewish people wear and why they wear them. We also got the chance to ask Leonard our own questions.
Some of us asked why Jewish people don’t believe in Jesus, and how they are able to understand and read the Torah. Leonard answered all our questions and helped us understand things better. At the end of the session, Leonard talked about the Holocaust and explained why it is so important that we learn about it and never forget that period of history.
It was such an incredible session, and we feel really lucky that we got to listen to him.
