Save Our Historic Church and Keep our 120yr old Parish Open
Thank you to everyone who signed the original petition to save Our Lady of Grace church back in May 2025.
The Augustinians of the Assumption have issued notice to the Archdiocese to vacate the church building by 30th June 2026. The trust has presented a fully costed plan to accept the gift of the church building from the Assumptionists, preserving our parish at zero cost to either the Archdiocese or the Assumptionist owners.
New Petition: Following the notice to vacate, they have launched an updated petition reflecting the critical urgency of the situation and their support for both parish preservation and the Assumptionist mission in the South.

A meeting was held at the church on Monday 22nd September in the church hall where the Trustees of Our Lady of Grace Buildings Preservation Trust updated parishioners about the future of Our Lady of Grace church and discussed its historical significance to the area which is fascinating! Who knew?! On the petition site, you will find more historical information and youtube videos which will explain more.
There will lots of fundraising activities happening in the church and this will be available in their newsletter and on the webiste such as concerts in the church, Christmas bazaar and other fundraising events.
