KS1 and KS2 Christmas PerformancesDear Parents,
Subsequent to my letter of Monday, I am writing to inform you that, very regrettably, we will have to cancel both the Christmas Fair and performances in front of parents.
We do not make this decision lightly as these events are vital to our community. After eighteen months of COVID, we had hoped that the continued ‘normalisation’ of school life, would allow us, once again, to welcome parents to our school to celebrate Christmas. A rising number of cases, however in school, as well as seasonal sickness, has made this decision inevitable. Our primary concern must be to protect all of us in our community and to ensure that our core business of learning in school can continue uninterrupted until the end of term.
The children have worked so hard in preparing the KS1 nativity and the KS2 carol concert. It is a delight to watch them mount the stage and confidently read, act and sing. We do not want all this work to go to waste, therefore, both performances will be filmed and loaded on to Google Classroom. Although this is not the same, hopefully it will give you a taste of how truly wonderful your children are and, please God, next year we will be able to yet again have live performances.

Latest COVID Cases22nd November 2021
As we near the end of November, it is evident that COVID is making a resurgence within the school.
Last week, attendance in many of the classes was down on the previous week. This was as much to do with seasonal sickness as with COVID. Presently we have three teachers isolating after testing positive. As we only cover using Our Lady of Grace staff, ensuring that all the classes are covered is a challenge at the moment.
As a community to minimise the spread, please help us to maintain social distancing, hand hygiene, cleaning, wearing face coverings when appropriate and limiting social interactions.
As I have said previously, our Christmas Fayre and performances are very important to us as a community. Nevertheless, we have to be realistic as to our current circumstances and the risk posed by COVID. I will make the decision on Friday as to whether or not to cancel the live Christmas performances and move to a virtual platform. If I have to make that decision, it will be with a heavy heart, but my entire motivation is the health and wellbeing of the staff and children.
