We do love to be beside the seaside

St Gerard's Class recently went on a School trip to Joss Bay. A fantastic time was had by all the children and adults, taking home lots of lovely memories as well as shoes full of sand! It was a pleasure to see different sides to the children that we would not particularly see when we are in school!

The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves, were extremely well behaved and were an absolute credit to the school.

A big thank you to all the adults who helped to make the children's visit a fun-filled and memorable one. Have a look at some of the photos below to see just how much fun we had.

St Joseph's Class had an absolutely fabulous day at the beach. They spent the day with their friends burying each other, playing football, digging HUGE holes, building castles and hiding their food from the seagulls! It was so nice to have a bit of normality after the last year and 1/2 and it was a day enjoyed by all, so much so the majority of the coach was silently sleeping the whole way home! A brilliant day and a lifetime memory for them all.

Headteacher's End of Term Newsletter July 2021

/263/head-teachers-newslettersOur Lady of Grace School End of Term Newsletter – July 2021 This last half term has finished with a bang!  We have managed to dodge COVID in virtually all classes with children’s attendance being fantastic.  Thank you! School trips, a Book Fayre, a visit from an author, a musical showcase, class masses at church, a whole school photograph and the finale of a Year 6 production.  Now that’s what I call a productive term! A huge thanks to Charlene Riviere (Chair of PTFA), who organised the visit from Serena Patel, the author of Anisha (Accidental Detective).  Our children enjoyed this immensely; thank you Charlene. I must also thank Steve and Alex McHiggins, who along with our young guitarists gave us a beautiful musical feast for the end of term.  Not a dry eye in the house. Educational Visits It was so nice to see both Year 2 and Year 3 at the seaside.  Though our time on the beach is always short, the memories of the occasion will always stay with the children.  Thank you to the teachers and the office staff who have made these trips happen. 2021 Results   As a school we chose to conduct formal assessments this academic year to compare with the 2019 outcomes (the last set of recognised National Data). Headteacher's Newsletter - July 2021

Our Lady of Grace School Staffing for September – 2021   We have a few changes to highlight for September.   We will be saying goodbye to Mrs O’Sullivan in the office who is retiring after 22 years at the school.  Val has been a great servant to Our Lady of Grace, and she will be greatly missed by us all. We wish her well as she moves to Dorset.  There is a collection being circulated by Charlene Riviere of the PTFA if anyone wishes to contribute to a leaving present. We will also be saying goodbye to Miss Gavure after 4 years, Miss Dwyer (3 years) and Miss O’Neill (3 years) who will be leaving for pastures new.  These teachers have done so much to assist the learning of our children, we wish them all the very best for the future. In September we welcome new colleagues to the team, many bringing a wealth of experience from other schools, and some that are new to teaching who have chosen to start their careers at Our Lady of Grace.    As we were unable to have ‘Meet the Teacher’ last week, teachers have posted a short video introducing themselves to their individual classes.  Please click on the following link and chose the year your child will be entering in September to find their new teacher: https://www.ourladyofgracecatholicprimaryschool.co.uk/2632/teaching-staff-from-     september-2 Teaching staff from September EYFS -St Francis – Mrs Adeyemi (3 days), Mrs Coghen (2 days) EYFS - St Bernadette – Miss Moore Year 1- St David’s – Miss Maddison Year 1- St John Bosco - Miss Russell            Year 2- St Joseph’s - Miss Barrett Year 2- St Gerard – Mrs Okereke Year 3- St Peter’s - Miss Okudu Year 3 - St Martin’s – Mrs Odubanjo-Odutayo Year 4 - St Martin De Porres – Miss Hill Year 4 – St Francis of Assisi- Miss Grogan Year 5 - St Elizabeth’s – Mrs Huynh Year 5 – St Patrick- Mrs Hall Year 6 - St Teresa – Mrs Antwi-Bosiako   Sean Small Headteacher
