Yr 2 Trip to Joss Bay

Year 2 had a memorable and fun day to Joss Bay on 18th June 2025. We had marvellous weather and a great spot on the beach. The children played games and built sandcastles in the sand. Mr Small treated us all to ice cream which went down a treat. The seagulls left us alone this year because we had a backup plan. Archie's mum brought a fake hawk which scared off the birds.The children were able to have their lunch in peace. We arrived back in school safely and on time.

Year 5 Graffiti Art Trip to Charlton Park

Year 5 had an exciting trip to Charlton Park, where we explored the world of graffiti art. We began by analysing the graffiti already displayed in the skate park, discussing the messages, techniques and styles used by different artists. Back at the park, we held a lively debate around the question: Is graffiti art or vandalism? Everyone shared thoughtful points, showing how deeply they had considered both sides of the argument. The highlight of the day was collaborating on our very own giant graffiti art piece as a class. We used spray paints and bold designs to create a vibrant artwork, which we proudly brought back to school. It was a brilliant hands-on way to learn about art, expression and community spaces.

Girls' Summer Shield Tournament - St Paul's Academy

Our girls' football team took part in the girls' Summer Shield at St Paul's Academy. In a tough group with St Patrick and Boxgrove school, the girls had to play 4 group games to qualify for the final. The girls managed to get 10 points from 12, only drawing one game and conceding one goal in the process and flew into the final. The final was a rematch against Boxgrove School which promised to be an extremely tough game.  The girls were absolutely excellent and dominated the game from start to finish.  They won 3-0 and were crowned winners of the Summer Shield.  The girls have excelled at every tournament they attended this year. In their previous tournament they had been desperately unlucky not to qualify for the final and they put that disappointment well and truly behind them in this one.   The squad this year was Anzelma, Nethra, Chizara, Mary, Teniola, Michelle, Dabira, Nia. Well done girls - we are very proud of you.
